Playtech has lauded its latest US expansion as an “exciting step” for the group, as the gambling tech firm secures a multi-state agreement with the Kindred Group’s flagship Unibet brand.

Under the terms of the agreement, Playtech will provide its casino software to Unibet in New Jersey, with further states set to follow in the coming months.

Manuel Stan, SVP of Kindred Group US, commented: “To add Playtech Casino software to our portfolio in New Jersey is very exciting. Partnering with Playtech enables us to offer our online casino customers a selection of some of the best quality content, and we look forward to further collaboration with Playtech across more US states in the future.”

The partnership with Unibet is praised as the next step in Playtech’s strategic expansion across the US, with the group previously confirming that further launches are planned later in the year and into 2022

Shimon Akad, Playtech chief operating officer, said of the group’s latest US deal: “We are delighted to announce this exciting step in Playtech’s US growth.

“Unibet deliver a fantastic entertainment experience to their US customers, and we are proud to partner with them to deliver Playtech’s casino software as part of their market leading offering – starting in New Jersey.

Earlier in the day, Playtech confirmed that the long mooted sale of its Finalto financial services division could be nearing completion, after reaching an agreement with Gopher Investments for an enterprise value of $250m in cash.

The transaction, unanimously supported by the Playtech board, is subject to shareholder approval, with completion, assuming a normal timetable for regulatory clearances, expected in H1 2022.
