Wynn Resorts has announced that its WynnBet online casino and sports betting app has secured a further market access agreement, this time pertaining to The Buckeye State.

Set to come subject to license eligibility and availability, legalisation, and regulatory approvals, the region markets the eighth state to be added to the growing list of jurisdictions where WynnBet plans to launch.

Currently the app is available in New Jersey and Colorado, with its virtual doors also set to open in Michigan today (Friday 22 January) as the Wolverine State launches its igaming and online sports betting market.

Furthermore, WynnBet has also secured market access collaborations in Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Nevada, and now Ohio; and has submitted for licensure in Tennessee and Virginia.

Issuing an update on its US strategy, the company says: “To meet the demands of the quickly moving online sports betting and igaming industry, WynnBet is fast-tracking discussions regarding market access in more than a dozen other large jurisdictions to be announced.

“Such market access and licensure are subject to legalisation and required approvals by regulatory authorities in each jurisdiction.”

Regarding the group’s imminent debut in Michigan, which will come when the region commences with online gaming and sports betting from noon local time, the company promises “a broad selection of professional sports and high-end casino games that users can quickly and easily toggle between”.

WynnBet gained market access in Michigan through a multi-year deal with GAN and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, with the partnership becoming one of nine approved for launch upon the market going live.

Alongside the aforementioned collaboration, those permitted to begin offering one of both activities are Bay Mills Indian Community/DraftKings; Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians/William Hill; Greektown Casino Hotel/Barstool Sportsbook; Hannahville Indian Community/TwinSpires; Keweenaw Bay Indian Community/Golden Nugget Online Gaming; Little River Band of Ottawa Indians/Rush Street; MGM Grand Detroit Casino/BetMGM; and MotorCity Casino/FanDuel.
