Gambling tech firm Playtech has praised “another significant milestone” after unveiling a further North American strengthening via a licensing agreement with International Game Technology.

Following hot on the heels of a number of agreements already rolled-out this month, including those alongside Swiss Casinos, SKS365, and Norsk Tipping, the deal sees Playtech further enhance its casino offering across the region.

Under the terms of the agreement, the group is able to offer games in the United States that include any of the features patented within IGT’s US patent portfolio.

Nick Khin, chief operating officer at IGT, stated: “We are delighted to have reached an agreement to provide Playtech with access to the largest game feature patent portfolio in the US. Working in partnership with Playtech will help propel our collective innovation and growth, and further validates our significant IP portfolio”.

The agreement is said to represent a significant step in Playtech’s expansion into North America after being granted a licence in New Jersey, and having already gone live with bet365 and across BetMGM’s gaming network earlier this year.

The deal with IGT comes as Playtech outlines a vision of partnering with leading companies and leveraging its scale to increase distribution capabilities across North America.

Shimon Akad, chief operating officer at Playtech, said: “The agreement with IGT represents another significant milestone in the growth of our presence in North America as we build on the momentum of the past few months. We look forward to offering the US market more of our market-leading software and technology in what is a rapidly growing US market”.
