Frank Op de Woerd has launched CasinoNieuws.nl, a Dutch language website that will cover the national and international gambling industry and has set its sights on the number one spot in the Netherlands.

Aiming to give information about casino games, casinos and legalisation, particular attention is to be paid to CasinoNieuws’ home market as the country prepares for a legalised markets with an expected go-live date for online gambling of September 1, 2021.

CasinoNieuws is an initiative of Op de Woerd, a former head of content at PokerNews.com who boasts 13 years of experience within the casino ecosystem, with backing secured from a consortium of experienced gambling entrepreneurs.

“There’s no better time to launch a new website focused on the Dutch gambling industry,” stated Op de Woerd. “With a new era for online gambling in Holland just a year away, I can’t wait to cover it every step of the way.

“I’ve been to Vegas dozens of times, and I’ve visited casinos all over the world. I’ve always greatly enjoyed my time in casinos and love the vibe the world of gambling holds.

“For me, it’s crucial to be open and honest about all facets of gambling, as that’s the only way to run a news website, I feel. I aim to hold myself and CasinoNieuws.nl to the high standards set by traditional newspapers and news websites.”

CasinoNieuws aims to bring daily news as well as features and interviews, with a number featured during a soft-launch including those alongside gambling lawyer Justin Franssen, gaming consultant Willem van Oort, casino game inventor Marco Guldenaar, and poker players Govert Metaal and Teun Mulder.

Op de Woerd added on the aspirations for the website: “When the application process opens on March 1, 2021, I want CasinoNieuws.nl to be a household name for everyone in my country interested in gambling. When the online market opens on September 1, 2021, I want to be the number one on the market when it comes to gambling news in the Netherlands.”
