Konami Holdings has rolled-out its second sponsorship agreement of the week, with its Digital Entertainment subsidiary becoming an official global partner of Brazilian football club Corinthians.

Following on from a similar such agreement inked alongside São Paulo FC earlier in the week, Konami, whose gaming subsidiary has made several expansion steps across a multitude of US casinos, lauds the culmination of a “several year affiliation”.

The extended agreement now boasts full-scale integrated marketing and branding benefits on and off the pitch, with supporters to see Football PES branding integrated in various club related content, such as backdrops, LED boards, and other activities including the newly founded esports team

“Our working relationship with Konami to date has been extremely successful from a licensing perspective and we are delighted to extend this, welcoming them back as an official sponsor,” said Andrés Sanchez, Corinthians president.

“We look forward to starting the next phase of our relationship with Konami and creating some fun and exciting content that both Corinthians and wider football fans will enjoy.”

In addition to branding on official game jerseys, the eFootball PES logo will also be included on the back of all training jerseys as well as have feature placement underneath the Nike logo on team travel shirts.

“Corinthians demonstrates how football permeates across cultures and generations and we are proud to be an official sponsor of this extraordinary team,” added Takayuki Kubo, president of Konami Digital Entertainment.

“This new chapter in our joint venture will deliver fresh experiences to our fans and allow us to reach new enthusiasts through PES.”

Earlier this week the group’s Konami Gaming subsidiary welcomed a link-up with online casino slot supplier Lightning Box that will see the latter provide the Las Vegas-based manufacturer with several of its most popular titles.

Boasting a strong presence across the US market, the collaboration will initially see three of the Australian provider’s best-performing games, namely Chicken Fox, Silver Lioness 4x and Eagle Sun, go live in the country’s land-based casinos in early 2021.
