GGPoker Network has announced the receipt of a type three gaming services licence by the Malta Gaming Authority, following hot on the heels of the entity’s recently completed WSOP Super Circuit Series, hosted in partnership with World Series of Poker.

The online poker network, which also boasts a licence awarded by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission, sees its new MGA licence as a means of facilitating continued expansion into a range of global markets.

The approval comes after GGPoker Network unveiled numerous new link-ups during recent weeks, including those alongside TotoGaming, OlyBet, Pokercode, King’s Casino and Boris Becker.

Furthermore, the company also ran its online poker tournament series from May 3-31, which consisted of over 500 individual events. Eighteen WSOPC ring events headlined the series, each of which awarded a WSOPC gold ring to the winning player.

Much of the headline WSOPC action was streamed live on Twitch via GGPoker.TV, with the podcast-style show hosted by Joe Stapleton and featured GGPoker ambassadors such as Daniel ‘DNegs’ Negreanu, ElkY, Felipe Ramos and Fedor Holz.

Other well-known poker pros such as Maria Ho, David Williams, Matt Berkey, Jesse Sylvia, Marle Cordeiro and more also featured on GGPoker.TV during the series

Jean-Christophe Antoine, head of GGPoker Network, said of the MGA approval: “It’s always a good sign and an honour to receive a license from Malta Gaming Authority and we could not be more enthused. We look forward to signing new partnerships to continue making online oker available all around the world.”
