Isle of Man-based casino software developer Microgaming has announced the extension of its licensing agreement with Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc to produce a new Tarzan branded online slot.

Brokered by Creative Licensing Corporation, the new deal will see Microgaming distribute a second Tarzan branded title to its customers, with the jungle-themed game set to be produced by Fortune Factory Studios, an independent studio that is providing content exclusively for Microgaming.

Jean-Luc Ferriere, chief commercial officer at Microgaming, commented on the announcement: “We are excited to extend our brand partnership with Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. to create the next iteration of Tarzan, a timeless character and brand with worldwide appeal.

“The upcoming game from Fortune Factory Studios will be one of several new branded slots to launch on Microgaming’s platform this year as we continue to diversify, extend and refresh our content offering.”

The new game, which further enhances Microgaming’s diverse portfolio of branded content, takes inspiration from the original adventure novels authored by Edgar Rice Burroughs and will see the legendary jungle hero take players on a new pursuit for rewards.

Moreover, the deal also follows on from Microgaming’s first Tarzan game, with the new slot being designed from scratch to ensure it has a unique look and feel.

James Sullos, president of Edgar Rice Burroughs, added: “Our extended deal with Microgaming will see the creation and launch of a new Tarzan game, which we are confident will build on the character’s successful first outing with the renowned supplier. We look forward to working with Microgaming and are excited to see the game come to fruition.”

The character is one of the most filmed in movie history, having been the subject of 52 movies, including animation features, seven television series and two Broadway stage productions.
