The Cordish Companies has entered into a strategic partnership with Fanduel Group to bring the firm’s fantasy and sports betting operations to Live! Casino & Hotel and Entertainment Districts properties throughout the United States.

The agreement unites The Cordish Companies’ development and operation of resort, casino and entertainment destinations with FanDuel’s brand and sports betting platform.

Cordish Live! properties welcome over 55 million visitors a year, while with more than 8.5 million customers across 45 states FanDuel Group is what Cordish lauds as “the biggest retail sportsbook in the world and America’s #1 online sportsbook”.

Joseph Weinberg, principal of The Cordish Companies, commented: “We are excited to partner with FanDuel to bring our customers the premier sports betting experience in the country, including unique promotions and sports engagement opportunities that will only be available at Live! Properties.”

The partnership is set to initially target Pennsylvania, where the companies plan to bring FanDuel sportsbooks to Cordish’s Live Casino & Hotel Philadelphia and Live! Casino in Westmoreland County. The partnership will also come to life through Live! Entertainment Districts throughout the country.

Furthermore, both parties will also pursue sports betting licenses and online gaming opportunities in Maryland, Washington DC and other jurisdictions across the United States as sports betting expands across the country.

“With ten decades of experience, The Cordish Companies have created the model for world-class integrated sports, gaming, entertainment and hospitality destinations,” added Matt King, CEO FanDuel Group

“This partnership allows us to capitalise on the incredible success of sports betting to date and bring FanDuel’s top sports betting operations to Cordish destinations across the United States.”

Last month The Cordish Companies affiliate Stadium Casino Westmoreland broke ground on a new $150m Live! Casino project, a short time after holding a topping off ceremony at its $700m Philadelphia development.

Set to be a part of the 1.3-million-square-foot Westmoreland Mall development, located in Hempfield Township, approximately 30 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, a number of Corish executives were present along with regional business, community and tourism leaders, to begin construction on the 100,000-square-foot gaming, dining and entertainment destination.
