Malta headquartered Gaming Innovation Group has become the latest firm to achieve the ISO 27001 certification, doing so for the second year in a row.

The data security certification covers development, infrastructure, network configuration and associated product operations for gaming services hosted on the GiG Core platform.

GiG follows Betsson Group in securing the accreditation, with the online gaming and betting organisation doing so last month, before which Greentube, Novomatic’s interactive division, and online gaming operator Kindred Group also both achieved the ISO 27001 certification.

Furthermore, the GiG team has also achieved a new accreditation for its data warehouse, which is used to transform their data into reports for customers and internal teams informing business-critical decisions.

GiG stresses that this accreditation “continues to demonstrate GiG is committed to providing its B2B customers with secure products they can trust, which their players can rely on”.

Richard Brown, acting chief executive officer of GiG, explained: “The accreditation continues to prove that we are committed to protecting our customers and players information. Our teams have been working round the clock to continuously improve the robust control framework we put in place last year.

“This framework not only ensures the information we hold is protected, it also means we are actively detecting and ready to react to situations which could put any of our information at risk.”

Earlier this week the igaming operator and technology provider aligned with identity confirmation provider HooYu, in an attempt to smooth KYC at all points of the customer lifecycle.

The HooYu customer journey uses customisable UI and UX tools to facilitate ID document validation, facial biometrics, address proofing and also enables customers to provide source of funds information where required.

David Pope, marketing director at HooYu, stated: “The HooYu customer journey tools are relevant not just to customer sign-up, but to all parts of the customer lifecycle, to help strike the right balance between a great customer experience and compliance with regulatory requirements.”
