MGM Resorts International’s Tunica-based Gold Strike Casino Resort has solidified its position in Mississippi’s sports betting scene, as the property gets set to unveil a new $7m sports entertainment venue this week.

Gold Strike, which sits close to the Arkansas state border, has held the grand opening of its Moneyline Book, Bar and Grill, complementing the existing Topgolf Swing Suite, of which it was the first in the region to house.

The new sports betting and entertainment venue is lauded as “the next evolution of sports betting in Mississippi,” and comes complete with in excess of 60 HD screens, including a giant video wall, sportsbook, VIP lounge and a variety of entertainment options.

Upon entering Moneyline patrons are faced with two 16-foot wide by 9-foot tall video displays that can operate as 16 individual screens, a 50-foot-long bar with 16 video poker machines and an adjacent 6,000 square foot tiered seated race and sportsbook.

“Last August, Gold Strike and MGM Resorts were the first to launch legalised sports betting in Mississippi, ushering in a new era of sports entertainment,” commented David Tsai, Gold Strike president and COO, on the new addition

“Nearly a year later, we up the ante on the sports betting and sports entertainment experience in the Mid-South, with the opening of Moneyline Book, Bar & Grill and our own Topgolf Swing Suite.

“We’ve created an exceptional state-of-the-art venue that brings together sports, gaming, entertainment, dining and nightlife. These continued capital investments, combined with our innovative service culture and M life Rewards loyalty program, make Gold Strike the region’s premier sports entertainment destination.”

Gold Strike Casino Resort, together with MGM sister property Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, made history last August when they simultaneously became the first Mississippi casinos to accept legal sports bets under the state’s new sports betting regulations.
