GGPoker, the flagship poker room on the GGNetwork, has become the official sponsor of the biggest buy-in poker tournament ever, the Triton Million.

The invite-only £1.05m poker event, which GGPoker states is “set to break multiple world records,” is the London leg of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, which is headlined by the record-setting Triton Million – A Helping Hand for Charity tournament.

Made up of a £1m buy-in accompanied by a £50,000 charity donation, the richest event in poker history, running from August 1-3, is to be broadcast live.

As of July 10, 27 participants have committed to paying the £1.05M needed to enter the main event, including GGPoker Ambassador Bryn Kenney, in addition to Triton Ambassadors Tom Dwan and Jason Koon.

To celebrate its partnership with Triton, GGPoker is to run a series of online events from July 31-August 8, mirroring the schedule of Triton tournaments run at the London leg.

Paul Burke, head of GGPoker, explained: “As the online home to many of the players taking part in Triton Super High-Roller Events, it’s fitting that GGPoker should sponsor the Triton Million main event.

“We’re delighted to throw our weight behind a world-record setting event with an awesome charity element, and it will be even more exciting for us in London with Bryn Kenney flying the GGPoker flag at the tables.”

Koon previously said of the event: “I love to play big stakes against tough competition, and no one checks those boxes quite like Triton. The Triton Million in London will be taking the series to a whole new level as well as raising millions for worthy causes.

“There has never been a poker tournament with a buy-in of this size before, all the players will be part of poker history. I’m very excited about it! London is one of the most historically rich, beautiful cities in the world – so it’s very fitting that this history-making event will be taking place here in the heart of the city.”
