Founded to “rethink classic products on a conservative market,” Hacksaw Gaming has begun to make strategic moves to expand its product portfolio, currently consisting of 26 scratchcard titles.

Proceeding with a mobile-first strategy with a focus on speed and user friendliness, the Malta and Stockholm-based firm has added a number of operators to its growing partner list, as it gets set to introduce its latest batch of releases.

Marcus Cordes, Hacksaw Gaming COO, spoke to CasinoBeats regarding the current growth surrounding the scratchcard segment and the thinking behind a mobile-first strategy: “We feel that this segment was in need for a fresh new look. Scratchcards need to be added to players radars as they are also an easy way of winning big.

“Instant wins can be just as successful as slots, proof being that our first €100,000 jackpot was won in Germany, 24 hours after LeoVegas released the game.

“Data proves that the majority of online casino operators have large traffic coming from mobile so it makes sense to have the mobile first strategy. We design purely based on mobile interaction and have seen that our clients are recognising this.”

One recent agreement entered by Hacksaw recently was alongside online gambling operator LeoVegas, where it was stated that “we strongly believe that there is huge growth ahead of us”.

Cordes went on to elaborate on the company’s confidence, as well as stating which regions are falling on the radar as future growth targets: “We had very good feedback on the product, it’s becoming very clear that operators are happy to see new, fresh quality scratch cards since they seem to have been lost in the background of recent casino growth.

“We feel that this segment was in need for a fresh new look”

“Scratchcards are also visibly familiar in many markets and the instant win category seems to need an update so Hacksaw Gaming are here to do that. We have seen interest across Europe, South America and Asia which is very promising for the rest of 2019.”

Attempting to liaise with a number of organisations spanning a variety of markets was a key consideration for Hacksaw when entering 2019, backed up by a recent multi-brand launch entered with Betsson Group.

Regarding the company’s year-long strategy, Cordes elaborated: “Our strategy was quite simple and split up in two different ways, first to research and establish key partners in different regions over the world, for example Relax Gaming in Europe and Patagonia for Latin America, to broaden our reach and expand quickly.

“And to land some large deals early on in our journey to show our quality of product is valued by industry leaders.”

Adding on the key qualities that appeal to Hacksaw when considering to enter such agreements: “We are looking for a true partner who is willing to collaborate with us to show players the quality of our products. Partners that understand we are forward thinkers and know that players will enjoy the fresh and futuristic vibe of our scratch cards.”

With the deals coming thick and fast, Cordes assures that there are certainly no plans to slow down, concluding on ambitions held for the coming weeks and months: “[We plan] to keep up the growth and expand into new regulated markets with fresh content also on the horizon. Watch this space.”
