Luxembourg’s Casino 2000, the only gambling establishment within the country, has gained certification according to the European Casino Association‘s Responsible Gambling Framework.

Becoming the latest establishment to achieve the feat, it follows an independent audit conducted by the Global Gambling Guidance Group.

Casino 2000, located in the town of Mondorf-les-Bains in south-east Luxembourg close to the border of France and Germany, also joins a host of other ECA members certified according to the 2018 framework.

By aligning with the latest framework the property, which was already successfully audited on previous versions of the ECA standard, is shown to be is acting in line with the latest levels of excellence in responsible gambling for the licensed land-based industry, that were updated by the ECA at the beginning of last year.

The framework strives to create an industry standard for the “effective management of responsible gambling” across a range of areas, such as awareness raising, employee training and marketing and stakeholder engagement.

The ECA Responsible Gaming Framework has been developed with “input and leadership of eminent researchers in the field of gambling addiction” over several years.

The certification according to this standard is exclusive to members of the ECA.

Guido Berghmans, director general of Casino 2000, commented: “It is a fair recognition of the great work of our responsible gambling team. We have successfully applied the ECA’s industry-leading Responsible Gambling Framework since its first inception in 2013.

“It is crucial for me and the entire team that our gambling products are provided in a socially responsible way to our customers.”

Amongst the other members who have already gained the newest certification are Germany’s Spielbanken Baden-Württemberg, Grand Casino Beograd of Serbia, Casinos Austria and Casino Cosmopol, the Swedish land-based subsidiary of Svenska Spel.

Per Jaldung, CEO of Casino Cosmopol and chairman of the ECA, explained: “Our mandate is to promote a healthy and safe gaming market, in which our customers can enjoy the great offer we provide across our four casinos.

“For this to be successful, responsible gambling has to be the centre-point of all our actions, and we were therefore eager to have this commitment put to the test through certification under the ECA Responsible Gambling Framework.”
