The European Casino Association has revealed that Casinos Austria has achieved certification according to its responsible gambling framework, following an independent audit conducted by Austrian Standards.

Via this new certification the company is cemented as acting in line with the latest standards of responsible gambling for the licensed land-based casino industry, following a series of updates that were issued by the ECA at the beginning of the year.

Casinos Austria becomes the latest to join the ever growing roster of ECA members, joining Serbia’s Grand Casino Beograd and Spielbanken Baden-Württemberg of Germany under the 2018 framework, with a host of other leading operators also in the process of obtaining their own certification.

Issuing further details in a media release, the ECA commented: “The framework sets an industry standard for the effective management of responsible gambling, in areas ranging from awareness-raising and employee training to marketing and stakeholder engagement. Certification is granted to ECA members after an independent third-party has been conducted.

“The framework was developed together with leading responsible gambling expert Pieter Remmers, who also acts as the secretary-general of the European Association for the Study of Gambling.”

Speaking of its addition Professor Dietmar Hoscher, a member of the management board of Casinos Austria, commented: “Responsible gambling is at the core of Casinos Austria and guides our understanding of sustainability in the licensed land-based casino industry.

“We are therefore delighted that we have achieved certification under the ECA’s responsible gambling framework, demonstrating the continuous progress we are making in this area.”

Last month the ECA announced the winner of its first-ever Executive Development Program (EDP) gender diversity scholarship, with Pauline Boyer Martin, marketing director of the French casino group JOA, the lucky recipient.

The program is to feature a host of global gaming executives and international rising stars in the industry, and aims to explore new industry ideas and leadership strategies, whilst providing an opportunity to network with other gaming professionals from around the globe.
