Microgaming's Isle of Man headquarters

Isle of Man-based gaming software giant Microgaming has launched its latest development hub, Fortune Factory Studios.

The new independent studio will develop exclusive online gaming content, available exclusively to Microgaming operators.

Fortune Factory will focus on “player-centric game development, with a focus on creating intuitive and engaging gameplay experiences that resonate with players.” Staffed by specialists from the land-based and video game industries, Fortune Factory will create immersive slots with high-energy mechanics.

In a statement, Microgaming CEO John Coleman said: “Our studios model was established to bring greater diversity and innovation to the market.

“The talented team at Fortune Factory have years of land-based and traditional video gaming experience behind them, ensuring they are in a strong position to deliver exciting game features and mechanics exclusively for Microgaming customers.

“With the launch of Romanov Riches later this month, Fortune Factory joins [studios]  Slingshot, Stormcraft and Triple Edge in diversifying our range with new premium content,” he said.

Phelan Sykes, head of game production at Fortune Factory, added: “Our game design philosophy stems from our belief that marrying exciting and intuitive gambling mechanics with appealing characters, themes and purpose-designed orchestration creates the ideal gaming experiences for players. We are delighted to bring our ‘product with personality’ to Microgaming on an exclusive basis.”

Romanov Riches will be the first official game under the new Fortune Factory Studios brand, to be released on Wednesday, October 24.
