32Red and Middlesbrough FC outline Responsible Gambling Week support

Championship outfit Middlesbrough FC and principal partner 32Red have thrown their support behind next month’s Responsible Gambling Week, following the duo’s link-up earlier this year, which also saw fellow Kindred Group brand Unibet secure branding rights as part of the deal.

The football club has become the first in the English Football League to sign up to the cross-industry initiative, with both party’s stressing that they are “keen to show their support in delivering the message”.

As part of the supportive pledge, 32Red has made an agreement to donate all match-day advertising space, encapsulating screens, LEDs and programme, to deliver the Responsible Gambling message for the live televised fixture against Derby County, at the clubs Riverside home, on Saturday 27 October (kick off 12:30pm).

A spokesman for Middlesbrough FC stated: “Responsible Gambling Week is an opportunity for us as football clubs and organisations to play a part in delivering a clear and concise message. We have a social responsibility and this is very important to us to be at the forefront of this.”

Building upon 2017’s inaugural offering, this year sees Irish organisations join the campaign, and focus upon a theme of ‘Let’s Talk About Responsible Gambling.’

As part of the week, practical advice will be shared through social media channels, to ensure responsible gambling messages reach the widest possible audience.

Neil Banbury, general manager at 32Red, added: “Everyone at 32Red is delighted to support Responsible Gambling Week. We want our customers to enjoy gambling in a safe and sustainable way, and we’re committed to doing everything we can to make sure they always set their limits and stay in control.”

Responsible Gambling Week aims to get people talking about what it means to gamble responsibly, tools available to keep the activity fun and how players of all types can gamble safely, whilst ensuring any individual that needs added information, help or support knows where to find it.

It is anticipated that around 127,000 staff at around 11,000 gambling venues and online sites in the UK and Ireland will take part in Responsible Gambling Week.
