The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) hit Blackpool last week in what was the biggest prizepool for the event in ten years.

A massive 314 players made the walk down the famous Blackpool Promenade this week and into the £1100 main event.

A great satellite offering both at the casino and online at Grosvenorpoker.com contributed almost 100 main event seats, giving all involved a chance of victory.

One of those satellite winners was former joiner come poker enthusiast Daniel Corbett, who bagged his seat in the comfort of his own home for £30 whilst playing online. The 25 year-old made the relatively short trip from Blackburn to take his seat at the event where he was joined by some of the biggest names in the business.

Well-known pros Matt Davenport, Tom Hall, Mitch Johnson, Grosvenor Casinos’ Pro Jeff Kimber and last year’s winner Tom Middleton were all part of the 30 who cashed in the main event. None of them, however, could prevent Daniel from ultimately claiming the huge £87,280 1st prize and the title of Blackpool’s latest GUKPT main event champion.

Daniel is no stranger to Grosvenor Casinos’ events, having won a 25/25 event in Manchester in 2015 and also coming in 10th at the 2016 Goliath.

Daniel, who currently lives with his parents, is looking forward to using his prize money to help him move out of the family home. He also has a trip to Mauritius planned with his girlfriend and is already eyeing up Las Vegas for 2018.
