Foundation Gaming and Entertainment has doubled its Mississippi based casino portfolio, by adding the Fitz Casino and Hotel property in Tunica to that of the WaterView Casino and Hotel, Vicksburg, to its operations.

Completing it’s new acquisition, set on in excess of fifty acres and encompassing a 38,000-square foot casino, 500-room hotel, three restaurants and a 8,000-square foot event center, the firm has also announced that Donn Mitchell is to join as chief financial officer.

Bringing in excess of twenty years gaming industry experience, Mitchell, whose appointment is subject to the relevant regulatory approvals, stated: “I am thrilled to be joining the Foundation Gaming team. The acquisition of the Tunica property, coupled with Foundation Gaming’s Vicksburg property, will provide us with a firm platform for the continued development and growth of the Company.”

Furthermore, two additional internal changes have also been detailed by Foundation Gaming, designed to enhance the company’s operations at both of its entities.

Firstly Tony Scudiero, who boasts thirty years experience, joins the Fitz Casino and Hotel as vice president and general manager, having most recently served as the general manager of the Company’s WaterView property.

At that property Penny Bankston has been promoted from senior director of casino operations to vice president and general manager, having previously served at the Churchill Down Incorporated owned Riverwalk Casino as senior operations manager.

Greg Guida, Foundation Gaming’s co-CEO, commented, “We are excited about working with the great team that is in place at Fitz, which has been a solid performer in the market for many years. This transaction, coupled with Donn joining the Company, will position us for continued growth and development.”

Adding: “We are excited about bringing Tony up to Tunica, and having Penny lead our Vicksburg property. Penny has earned the respect of the property team, and we feel she is the ideal candidate going forward as general manager.

“Tony was instrumental in the successful transformation of our Vicksburg property, and we are confident he will prove equally successful in his new role leading our Tunica property.”
